Candle Care

When it comes to candles and keeping them burning their best, there are some tips and tricks you can use:

Wicks – Keep your wicks to a ¼” long when you light them.  Any longer and the candle will burn too hot which means it will not last as long as well as burn hotter which can cause blackening on the jar.

Vents/Drafts/Fans – Keep your candle away from these items, especially if it is not in a jar or other holder and the air hits the wick directly.  This can cause uneven burning, hotter burning, or other issues.

Burn Level – Do not burn your candle right down to the bottom as you can end up destroying the jar or holder.

Sun – Keep your candles out of the sun, as it can cause them to fade as well as it can soften the wax or cause your candle to misshapen.

Safety – Of course, it goes without saying that you do not burn your candle anywhere near flammable materials.  This means near curtains, bedding or anything else that can easily catch fire.

Never leave a burning candle unattended or where a child or pet can get to it and knock it over.  Make sure to extinguish a candle before going to bed or leaving your home.

Effects of Candle Burning to Indoor Air Quality

Effects of Candle Burning to Indoor Air Quality

An internationally funded study on candle emissions performed in 2007 has confirmed that well made candles of all major wax types pose no discernible risks to human health or indoor air quality.
In carrying out the tests, reference candles made from paraffin, soy wax, stearin, palm wax and beeswax were burned in a specialized testing chamber. Emission gases were analyzed for more than 300 chemicals known or suspected of toxicity, health risks or respiratory irritation at elevated concentrations.
The study found all of the waxes burned cleanly and safely, with no appreciable differences in burning behavior. Their combustion byproducts were virtually identical in composition and quantity, with all emission levels registering far below the most restrictive of any applicable indoor-air standards.

Format of a Party

How does a Gold Canyon Party go? How long does it last?

The presentation itself lasts about 20 minutes, and then however long it takes for ordering to be complete. I would love to be in and out in an hour so your guests can have a nice visit.

During the presentation I talk about the product, its history, let you sniff it, and light something so the guests can experience the scent. I will talk to you about candle care as well, as it is important to make your candles last.

If you think you can handle me coming to your home for an hour, and you getting free product, lets chat.
