Colour - Silver

Nature of Silver:

Silver is a precious metal and other metals are often described as silver in color. Silver doesn't have the warmth of gold. It's a cool metal.

Culture of Silver:

Silver often symbolizes riches, just as gold does. Silver can be glamorous and distinguished. While gray-haired men and women are seen as old, silver-haired denotes a graceful aging. Silver is the traditional Twenty-Fifth Wedding Anniversary gift.    

Using Silver:

The color silver can be earthy, natural or sleek and elegant. It can be used much as gray is although when using shiny metallic inks, small amounts for accents is best.

Meaning of Purple

Meaning of the Color Purple 

Purple embodies the balance of red simulation and blue calm. This dichotomy can cause unrest or uneasiness unless the undertone is clearly defined at which point the purple takes on the characteristics of its undertone. A sense of mystic and royal qualities, purple is a color often well liked by very creative or eccentric types and is the favorite color of adolescent girls.

New Feature - Green

Colours play a significant part in our lives, whether it is decorating, what to wear, or even to influence our feelings.  So I am starting a new feature on here, colours and how to use them, information, and just whatever hits my fancy.

In Honour of this time of year, the first colour to be featured is Green!

What does Green Symbolize?

Life and renewal – it reminds of us of nature, growth, renewal, health and the environment. 

Green is restful and calming.  Time moves faster in a green room.

Green can be both warming and cooling.  It can denote balance, harmony and stability.  If you are looking for a springtime feel, use several shades together.

Green is self-respect and well being, as well as balance. 

If unsure of a colour choice, green is a good safe option.
